転職相談でも「”ホワイト企業”ってどう探せばいいんですか？」と、
”ホワイト企業”はよくテーマになります。

”ブラック企業”は何としてでも避けたい
そんな経験をした方に受け取っていただければ幸いです。

国が認定している”ホワイト企業”とは何か
まず”ホワイト企業”ですが、扱い方に注意が必要です。
”ブラック企業”と並んで定義が「ひとそれぞれ」です。
キャリア相談にいらした方の中で、
いわゆる”大手ホワイト企業”にいる方は
こんな声を届けてくださいました。
真綿で首を絞められるというか・・・
じわじわ自分が削り取られる感覚があるんです。
大袈裟に聞こえるかもですが、
本人はかなり辛そうでした。
では、”ホワイト企業”の定義はないのでしょうか？
ここでは国の基準を借りてみましょう。
厚生労働省は「安全衛生優良企業公表制度」を実施しています。
安全衛生優良企業は”ホワイト企業”のイメージに近いと考えられるので、
次の定義を使ってみましょう。
・安全衛生優良企業とは、労働者の安全や健康を確保するための対策に積極的に取り組み、高い安全衛生水準を維持・改善しているとして、厚生労働省から認定を受けた企業のことです。
・この認定を受けるためには、過去3年間労働安全衛生関連の重大な法違反がないなどの基本事項に加え、労働者の健康保持増進対策、メンタルヘルス対策、過重労働対策、安全管理など、幅広い分野で積極的な取組を行っていることが求められます。（出典：厚生労働省「職場のあんぜんサイト」）
詳しくは厚生労働省のページを見ると、
「この企業は”ホワイト寄り”かな？”ブラック寄り”かな？」と
企業を見る目を養うことができます。
国が認定している”ホワイト企業”をすぐに見つける検索術
「定義とか難しい話はいいから！」という場合は、
厚生労働省の「しょくばらぼ」で、
「安全衛生優良企業公表制度」に☑️をつけて検索してみてください。

検索で表示される数は少ないのですが、
参考になるはずです。
「もっと数が欲しい」場合は、厚生労働省「安全衛生優良企業育成事業」を委託している
「非営利一般社団法人 安全衛生優良企業マーク推進機構（非営利型）」が発表している
ランキングが参考になるかと思います。

なお、厚生労働省は「ホワイト企業」という表現は使わず、
「安全衛生優良企業」としています。
厚生労働省の「しょくばらぼ」で見つかる企業数と
「非営利一般社団法人 安全衛生優良企業マーク推進機構（非営利型）」が発表している
ランキングの企業数が合わないのは、少し気になるところです。
ちょっと調べてみます。

In job change consultations, “How do I find a ‘White Company’?” is a common theme.
Job hunting takes too much time
Starting from scratch to analyze companies is realistically impossible due to time constraints
I want to avoid ‘Black Companies’ at all costs
This will hopefully be beneficial for those who have experienced these issues.
What is a ‘White Company’ Recognized by the Government?
First off, the term “White Company” needs to be approached with caution. Along with “Black Company,” its definition varies from person to person.
Among those who have consulted me, some in so-called “major white companies” have shared feelings like this:
It’s like being slowly strangled by silk… I feel like I’m gradually losing myself.
It might sound dramatic, but they seemed quite distressed.
So, is there no clear definition of a “White Company”?
Let’s borrow the government’s standards for this discussion.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has an “Excellent Occupational Health and Safety Organization Public Announcement System.” Companies recognized under this system closely resemble the image of “White Companies,” so let’s use the following definition:
An Excellent Occupational Health and Safety Organization refers to a company that actively works on measures to ensure the safety and health of workers, maintaining and improving high standards of occupational health and safety, and is certified by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare.
To receive this certification, in addition to basic requirements like no major violations of labor safety and health laws in the past three years, the company must actively engage in various fields like health maintenance and promotion for workers, mental health measures, excessive workload measures, and safety management.

For more details, please visit the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s page. It will help you develop an eye for discerning whether a company leans more towards being “White” or “Black.”
How to Quickly Find a ‘White Company’ Recognized by the Government
For those who want to skip the complicated stuff, try searching on the Ministry’s ‘Shokubalab’ site. Just check the box for the “Excellent Occupational Health and Safety Organization Public Announcement System.”

The number of companies shown is limited, but it should be a good reference.
If you desire a larger number of companies, the “Non-Profit General Incorporated Association for the Promotion of Excellent Occupational Health and Safety Organization Mark (Non-Profit Type),” commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for the “Excellent Occupational Health and Safety Organization Development Project,” publishes a ranking that could be useful.

Note that the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare does not use the term “White Company,” but refers to these as “Excellent Occupational Health and Safety Organizations.”
It’s slightly concerning that the number of companies found on the Ministry’s ‘Shokubalab’ and the ranking published by the Non-Profit General Incorporated Association do not match. I’ll look into this further and report back.

Just being aware of this information can make analyzing companies much easier and increase the time for essential deliberations like, “What characteristics am I looking for in a workplace?”

Job hunting can indeed be shortcut. There are shortcuts available.
I hope you can spend more time pondering deeper questions like, “What themes do I want to pursue in life?” or “What kind of life do I want to lead?”
